Jacobean era (1603-1660)

Jacobean is a word used and associated with King James. In the early to mid-17th century, the style was mainly focused on the utility of the piece of furniture and the wood carved in ornamental designs, rather than the upholstered comfort. After James reign ended, Charles was executed and the Jacobean style changed back to its more streamline design with very little flare.
