Chenille: Strong and soft

Chenille is a unique fabric characterized by its fuzzy piles which look like a caterpillar. Chenille was first introduced in the eighteenth century so is relatively new in the textiles industry and has gained popularity. It can be made from many fabrics including silk, cotton, rayon or synthetic fibres. Loops are created for the fuzzy look of chenille
Characteristics:
Chenille is soft as a result of the short piles of material on each strand. This creates a shimmer or iridescent quality to the fabric; it may appear shiny. It is extremely durable but may shrink or stretch. When using chenille on furniture, a stain resistant coating may be added.
